About The Artist
Hi, I'm Kiana!
I’m a Texas native, creative, and dog mom who will never say no to a trip to the thrift store or to a sweet treat after dinner. I've always been drawn to creative communication, from writing stories in my room to someone who has taken the leap to do photography full-time.
I'm super passionate about the in-between moments (and people) that often go unnoticed. My hope is that through both words and images, I help others feel seen in the season they’re in. I believe God gave me this gift for a reason: to see people the way He does and reflect His love through honest, intentional work.
Outside of creating, you can usually find me riding my bike, binging a k-drama, or reading on my Kindle. I love laughing until my cheeks hurt and building community wherever I go.
At the heart of it all, I want people to walk away from me and my work feeling valued, known, inspired, and ultimately loved by God.
The 'Why' Behind SEEN Project
I felt invisible for a very long time. Even though my body was present, it often felt like my thoughts and presence didn’t really matter. That feeling shaped how I approached this project. I wanted to explore what it means to be seen and the small ways that shows up in our faces and bodies.
When I took these portraits, I asked people to think about times they felt invisible. I watched for the small expressions that surfaced during that thought. The scrunch in the eyebrows, the frown, the watery eyes. Then I asked them to remember a time they felt truly seen. Their eyes would light up, the smile would appear, a spark of hope rising quietly.
Capturing these moments is the heart of SEEN project. Even in silence and in small gestures, we carry stories of invisibility and recognition that deserve to be noticed. This project is a reminder that every person’s presence matters and every story deserves to be acknowledged.
